About BETSY BIE:
I started photographing at age 15 with a 110 Instamatic camera. My mother scrounged up my grandfather's old 35mm and I used it for my graphics class in high school, shooting, developing and printing my own BW photos.
For graduation my parents got me the Olympus OM10 and I went crazy from there.
With the birth of my son, my artistic camera days went to the wayside and I became more of a point and shoot photographer to capture my son's younger years.
When he turned 16, and wasn't as cute to shoot photos of, ;) I decided to get back into the art and purchased a Canon Rebel T2. A friend talked me into photographing her wedding and my hobby blossomed into a new side job.
I had to get with the times, so I purchased a digital Canon EOS 350D (Rebel xTi) and took on a few more weddings (9 to be exact).
Now I find that I like to do sports photography, especially baseball. I will do only 3 weddings a year as I find them to be ultra stressful for me. I've started doing Senior portraits with great results.
By joining Photoworkshop, I hope to gather more training to take my photography to the next level. Of course, I'll have to upgrade my equipment again, but that will come in time. First comes practice.
I look forward to becoming part of this great community!
